Rowan Atkinson Is Selling His 1993 Lancia HF Integrale Evo II At Auction
This rare colour Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo II is being sold at auction by Rowan Atkinson. Rowan is well known for his car enthusiasm and it would be no surprise that he owned one of these. But, he came to this example more recently and this particular car came all the way from Japan.
Atkinson CBE, bought the car when it had covered only 87,000km from new in May 2021. Since then, he has added just under 3,000km, so he has obviously used it, but it didn’t become a daily driver and is still in the same superb condition he acquired it in. Still, there is a history file showing receipts for keeping it in this condition, and they are recent.
The Lancia Delta first appeared in 1979 and was shown to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Integrale became known for dominating the World Rally Championship as late as 1990, which for a development of a car that appeared over a decade before is some achievement.
This development was constant over the Delta’s lifespan and the Integrale spawned the first of the Evoluzione cars in 1991. This carried on through 1992 and the Evo models were the last homologation cars to be built for the Lancia Rally Team with the Martini Racing livery.
It was as late as June 1993 when the HF Integrale became the Evo II and came with the updated 2 litre 16 valve turbocharged engine. It produce a bit more power, now up to 215 bhp and is considered to be the one to have, if you can get one.
This particular car being originally supplied to Japan was imported to the UK back in 2011. It was chosen for it’s unusual and rare colour of Lord Blue.
The car comes with a comprehensive history file with the original Japanese service history, a current V5C, with Rowan’s name on it and a current MOT. It is simply ready to drive.
The Silverstone Auctions sale takes place at the Race Retro Show, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire on the 25th February 2023 and is estimated to sell for between £65,000 – £75,000.
