Volkswagen Type 4: 411 And 412– The Final Rear-Engined VW Cars
The Type 4 was the last rear engine VW and represents the end of an era. The Type 4 was a move into more upscale cars and brought some further innovation to the company based in Wolfsberg. It was sold on a worldwide market and tried to show that VW could still do things their way and be successful.
With design help from Porsche, it had the right ingredients, but with changing trends in the automotive markets it was going to be difficult.
Unitary construction and fuel injection were part of the package, but the rise of the Japanese manufacturers and the home grown vehicle in the US provided the challenge.

i-SPY Every vehicle on the road: Spy it! Score it!
Anyone else remember these? I do and I rather liked the couple that I had.
This one is a little different, but it looks pretty close to those originals. And looks good for the price, it’s cheap. I think I want it.

Building a Special with Ant Anstead Master Mechanic: Following the Build of Ant's Own Classic F1 Single-Seater Special
Ant Anstead certainly knows his stuff and his build of an F1 style special has been really good. I’ve wanted to build one too, so this book looks like a good idea.
And it’s from Haynes too, some 61 years after building a 750 Special, written by John Haynes himself.
It’s a tie into the TV series, Ant Anstead Master Mechanic on Motor Trend, part of the Discovery Network.
It’s a good guide on how to build one for yourself, or to read out of interest.
