Jay Kay And Roger Taylor Aston Martin V8 Vantage Manual And Volante At Auction
1990 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe X-Pack Manual Ex Jay Kay Of Jamiroquai
Jay Kay’s 1990 Aston Martin V8 Vantage X Pack manual is quite a rare car with only 95 built to this specification by the factory. Rare and very desirable the car has only covered 37,412 miles from new. One of the last of the line of this specification and in superb condition.
The specification is high of course, painted in Litchfield Black Metallic with a black hide interior with figured walnut and black carpets. The car also has a good history file with it.
Going under the hammer on Saturday 31st the car should make £340,000 to £380,000.
1979 Aston Martin V8 Volante Ex Roger Taylor Of Queen
Roger Taylor’s old V8 Volante was purchased at the height of Queen’s success in 1979. Supplied new to the drummer in Buckingham Green with Magnolia leather, now re-trimmed.
After the Taylor’s ownership the car passed into the hands of Aston afficionado Howard Masters.
The car has an extensive history file and came 3rd in the 2000 AMOC Concours, pretty good considering the car has been used and now shows 103,000 miles.
Presented in outstanding condition the car is expected to fetch between £140,000 to £160,000.
Sales Controller of Silverstone Auctions, Gary Dunne noted: “Both of these stunning Astons have significant celebrity provenance from the music industry resulting in unique opportunities for our buyers. We have a dedicated viewing day on Friday 30th July in The Wing building at Silverstone Circuit between the hours of 9am through to 6pm and we recommend interested bidders utilise this day to inspect cars of interest and their associated history files.”
There is also a large amount of automobilia items in the sale, which includes watches, registration numbers, tool kits and limited edition prints. The automobilia auction starts at 11am and the cars at 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
