Hagerty RADwood Comes To The UK On The 20th August 2022 At Bicester Heritage
Hagerty are bringing their newly acquired US show RADwood to the UK in August 2022 for the first time. The celebration of the excesses of 80s and 90s of automotive culture are celebrated in a show that will be held at Bicester Heritage.
After taking control of the RADwood show in March 2022 from the founders, podcasters Art Cervantes and Warren Madsen, who created the show back in 2017, the aim is to save driving and car culture and preserve it for future generations.
The show caters for all everything automotive and is open to cars built between 1980 and 1999. The show name RADwood has become synonymous with cars and the culture from that period.
Now the show has its first event in the UK you can bet that this will catch on over the world and expect to see more of them pop up in different countries.
motive excesses of the 1980s and 90s, to the UK at Bicester Heritage.
The show takes place on Saturday the 20th of August 2022 at Bicester Heritage, a site in the UK that is synonymous with classic cars and motorcycles and the site some of the best restoration skills and talent in the country.
Expect to see everything from the 1980s Miami Vice influence to the 90s Max Power craze. Expect to see wide arches, in car entertainment, bodykits, big bumpers and other period modifications. The show’s theme is ‘Greed Is Good’, where in period people aspired to own hot hatches, sports cars, Supercars, 4x4s and of course luxury cars.
Originality is good and celebrated in Hagerty’s other show, the Festival Of The Unexceptional, but those period modifications are more than welcome here.
The culture has been captured at RADwood for some time, with breakdancing, DJs, Graffiti art BMX and Skateboarding displays adding to the experience.
There is even going to be a collection of free to play 80s and 90s arcade games along with a three hour live DJ supplied by Absolute Radio 90s DJ Andy Bush, with the best 80s and 90s hits.
Tickets are £20 per car and sounds like a great day out, and a relatively cheap one if you can squeeze plenty of people in.
Mark Roper, Managing Director of Hagerty International, said, “Hagerty is at the heart of global car culture, and we are delighted to welcome owners of 80s and 90s cars to the first Hagerty RADwood event in August. Classic cars are no longer restricted to cars of the past, and enthusiasts are embracing modern classics more than ever. Hagerty’s RADwood event provides enthusiasts with the ultimate in a new breed of UK car show and promises to be a truly unique experience.”
