Four Examples Of The Audi Quattro Sell At CCA’s London Classic Car Auction
Classic Car Auctions, CCA, held their first sale outside of the Midlands at the London Classic Car Show. £1.9 million worth of cars were sold with a sales rate of 76%.
Ahead of the sale Gary Dunne, CCA’s Sales Manager commented;
“We are so excited for our debut in London this weekend. In the past we have had a huge success selling Quattros and I cannot wait to do the same again on Saturday. Our team have worked very hard to bring you a superb lot list for this auction!”
Quattros have been increasing in value for quite some time, but these seemed to be good value.
1982 Audi Quattro Pre-Production Prototype
This pre-production right hand drive prototype Quattro from 1982 has been in continuous ownership for the last 30 years.
One of only 17 rare survivors was substantially restored a few years ago by a marque specialist and resprayed in Tornado Red. This represents one of the rarest Audi Quattro’s in existence.
The guide price of £25,000 – £30,000 was accurate with a sale price of £25,752.
1985 Audi Ur-Quattro B2
This first generation Ur-Quattro B2 from 1985 is in nice condition with its recent coat of Zermatt Silver over the black leather interior. Another long term ownership car, coming with a fresh MOT, a large history file and the original owner’s manual.
Estimated at £24,000 – £28,000 the car reached a slae price of £23,865. Again, pretty close to the lower estimate.
1988 Audi Quattro Turbo B2
This UK supplied from new 1988 Quattro Turbo B2 has only two previous keepers. Looking nice in its Brilliant Black paint and with a graphite interior.
Being a first generation Ur-Quattro, it comes with the 10v engine and whilst a first generation it is later in the production cycle. Restored to a good standard, repainted and rebuilt with genuine parts.
The car went into the auction with an estimate of £30,000 – £35,000 and making a respectable £29,970.
1992 Audi Quattro 20v (RR)
This superb example of a 20V Quattro is believed to be the penultimate car supplied in the UK. One of only 295 right hand drive 20V models the Titan Grey has 94,635 miles and has had a full engine rebuild. The engine bay is apparently impressive and Classic Car Auctions say this is amongst the best examples they have ever seen.
Estimated at £50,000 – £60,000 it is strong money for a Quattro, but the condition would account for that. The car made a decent £52,170 showing how much these cars have appreciated in recent years.
