24 Hours Of Le Mans 100th Anniversary Celebration Starts At Laguna Seca August 2022
The 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is coming in 2023 and a year long celebration is starting this year at Laguna Seca.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans are planning a yearlong of celebrations for their 100th anniversary in 2023, and it’s starting in Laguna Seca.
The circuit in Monterey California is to host the first of the celebration races at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion August 17-20, 2022. The event will celebrate the companies, and those people that made the French race world famous.
The Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), the owners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, have created a movie quality highlighting some of the memorable moments of the past century. the 1.5 minute long film, “1923 – 2023 Soon a Century of Legends” is available to see below.
If you are lucky enough to be a visitor to the event you will be treated to a completely immersive experience, with all the sights sounds and smells of classic motorsport. There will also be the culinary delights too should you be able to sample them.
Four race groups will be dedicated to celebrating the 24 hour race, with cars from 1923 to 2005
The paddock and pits will be full of opportunities to mix with Le Mans racing driver legends and plenty of family activities to get involved in. The Hagerty Marketplace will be hosting the Ferris Wheel, go-karts and many stalls with Le Mans themed goods.
Over 400 historic race cars will feature in the event, from those pre 1920 Ragtime Racers where mechanics were needed to ride alongside the drivers to the prototypes that broke the 200 mph barrier.
A Limited number of VIP ticket packages are going to be available, while multi day and single day passes can also be bought and camping too, for that authentic Le Mans experience.
