Art Deco Voisin C-27 Aérosport Is Voted Best In Show At The UK Concours Of Elegance 2021

The UK Concours of Elegance event has now finished and featured the greatest collection of cars assembled in the UK

The unique art deco Voisin C-27 Aérosport is thought to be one of the 20th Centuries greatest engineering geniuses, Gabriel Voisin, was crowned Best in Show with the combined votes of the owners of all the cars taking part in the event. The C-27 shows many of the traits from Voisin’s aviation background.

The Concours of Elegance 2021, presented by A. Lange & Söhne, was the best so far. The finest line up that the show has seen with nearly 1000 cars in total displayed over three days. The cars ranged from the pioneering days of motoring to the modern era.

Other awards were given by decade, the original Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost winning the pre 1915 category and the Alfa Romeo P3 Tipo B the ’30s.

The Club Trophy was presented by the Royal Automobile Club and supported by Classic and Sports Car, went to a very original Fiat Dino Spider which will be part of the 2022 line up in 2022.

Many other cars made their debut at the event, the recently restored Aston martin Bulldog, the Jaguar C-type Continuation, and the new Bentley Blower continuation.

The Voisin was created for the 1934 Paris Motor Show, and whilst creating quite a stir, didn’t sell in huge numbers.

After the show two roadsters were built on shortened Aérodyne chassis which became known as C27. The fabulous art deco styling, a collaboration between being beautiful and striking at the same time Voisin and André Noël-Noël Telmont, an architect who had met Voisin during their education.

The new Pegasus sculpture, created by renowned wildlife sculptor and artist, Robert Rattray, over a period of six months was presented to the owner of the Voisin C-27 Aérosport.
