1,000 Classic Cars Head To Mecum Tulsa 2022 Auction On June 9-11
Mecum Auctions are hosting another 1,000 classic car sale at the SageNet Center at Expo Square in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June the 9th to 11th 2022.
Mecum are the largest classic and collector car auction company and have amassed many American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, trucks, hot rods and customs.
The very first Mecum auction was held in July last year brought in $22.1 million overall, this one is likely to be big too.
We’ve pickled out some highlights below.
1965 Mercury Comet A/FX Lightweight
The Mecum Tulsa auction is headlined by the Tommy Cronk Collection of seven lots, which in turn is highlighted by a 1965 Mercury Comet A/FX Lightweight (Lot S145). Number 7 of only 8 A/FX Mercury Comet lightweight drag racing cars ever built by Bill Stroppe and Associates.
1957 Mercury Custom
This 1957 Mercury Custom, Lot F23, has a great looking custom red exterior with flames and Heatwave graphics and has less than 800 miles on its rebuilt 368 CI Turnpike Cruiser V-8 engine.
1965 Shelby Cobra CSX4000 Series
The 1965 Shelby Cobra CSX4000 Series Roadster, Lot S124, is highly desirable being No. 29 of the 40th Anniversary Editions offered. it is also one of only five with a handcrafted, polished aluminum body.
The car is powered by an all-aluminum Shelby 427 FE stroker V-8 engine capable of 535 HP and 545 lb-ft of torque and puts its power down with a toploader 4-speed manual transmission.
1977 Pontiac Trans Am SE
A 1977 Smokey and the Bandit style Pontiac Trans Am SE, Lot S121, looks exceptionally nice. Coming with matching numbers W72 400 CI engine and 4 speed transmission and is one of only 2,699 produced.
1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible
The Father and Son Perham Collection consists of 25 eclectic vehicles. The pick of the lots is this really nicely restored 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible, Lot F6. Powered by a 390 CI V-8 engine with automatic transmission and comes finished in a blue exterior and white convertible top.
1964 Chevrolet Corvair Convertible
Lot F8 is a 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Convertible with a 164 CI flat 6-cylinder engine and 4-speed manual transmission. A great usable classic, I’d like one of these myself.
