Only Fools And Scalextric. Race The Only Fools And Horses Capri Ghia And Reliant Supervan III
Scalextric have brought Del Boy’s iconic TV comedy Only Fools and Horses Reliant 3 wheeled van and Capri Ghia in slot racing form. Lovely jubbly.
Quite possible one of the greatest TV comedies ever, Only Fools and Horses still finds new audiences today and is still incredibly funny. Even though the first series aired in 1981.
The two cars re-created here played their part in the jokes too. Three wheeled Reliant Regal Supervan III was the butt of many jokes. They don’t fall over as easily as you think, unless it’s staged for TV. I have it on good authority that the van drives pretty well and, just like the real thing doesn’t roll over at the sight of a corner.
As with all Scalextric cars they look good enough as display pieces in their own right. The attention to detail is incredibly high, something which Scalextric have been doing for quite a while now. The cars I had when younger were great, but these are truly superb. They have the added advantage of being able to race too. Though, it must be added that the Capri is the only one of the pair that is DPR, Digital Plug Ready for multi car racing one each lane.

The correct level of distress looks to be applied to the Reliant, with the constantly dirty appearance. It was after all a working vehicle. And, importantly the driver, Del Boy, is present.
The Capri Ghia is the fetching combination of bright green and pink, just to Del’s taste (or lack of). It’s even got the fake tiger print trim inside.
The Only Fools and Horses pair are available to pre-order directly from Scalextric, I’m sure they’ll sell out pretty quickly.
I’m actually hoping they use the Reliant tooling for more three wheeled cars. I fancy having a Reliant racing set too.
