Historics 10th Anniversary Live Grand Summer Sale, 18th July 2020
Historics celebrate their 10th anniversary with a special live summer sale.
Ten years ago, on Saturday 2nd June 2010, Historics held their first ever sale. Over the last decade their has been 43 auctions and 8,600 auction consignments. Historics have their own 100-acre private country location in Datchet, Berkshire for this special event.
This year will be notable not just for the anniversary, but due to the global health pandemic. The good news is that there are several measures in place to ensure staff and vistitor safety.
The sale of the 150 classics is going to be hosted in a specially designed auction hall. The site, owned by Historics management, is at Windsorview Lakes, Datchet, Berks.
This spectacular location is set in 100 acres of enclosed rural land. Also conveniently located just 1.5 miles from Junction 5 of the M4 motorway.
Mark Perkins, Managing Director of Historics, explains the reason for the new venue:
“We believe it is essential to entirely control and manage the auction venue and environment in these unprecedented times. As Windsorview Lakes is wholly owned by us, it provides the ability to create and put on a first-class, bespoke live auction that will fulfil prevailing legislation and advice, and provide personal health and safety for all our staff and guests. We are confident it will be a great sale and a thoroughly enjoyable day for all those attending and their families.”
He concluded: “Naturally, as is customary at all Historics auctions, the sale will also be open to telephone and live online bidding in real time via our auction partner, Bidpath, for those unable to attend”.
Wideley Spaces Auction Consignments
Because of this venue’s size it is possible to have widely spaced lots. Each car will be 4 meters apart which allows full health and safety guidelines to be met.
Importantly there are now four viewing days with extended hours. From 9am – 9pm daily will give greater opportunity to individually inspect the cars and their history files. The Historics auction team at hand throughout all days. Historics are able to provide video walk-arounds on request.
The purpose designed auction hall has been created with the same measures in mind. This is to allow enough space for people to be there and bid on the lots.
Another bit of good news is there will be a full complement of supervised parking, which is going to give appropriate space between vehicles. Not like any normal car park where you run the risk of damage from other cars.
