Four Brough Superior SS100, SS80 & 5/15 For Sale At H&H National Motorcycle Museum Sale

Four Brough Superior Models, an SS100, two SS80 and a 5/15 are for sale in at the H&H National Motorcycle Museum auction sale.

In the postponed H&H Classics motorcycle auction sale, there are four rare Brough Superiors available. Now taking place on Saturday the 19th December the sale is at the famous National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, England. The largest British motorcycle museum in the world, which opened in October 1984 displaying 350 motorcycles. The collection now contains over 1000 motorcycles and is a fitting location for the upcoming sale. Having a Brough Superior for sale at auction is quite something, but four at the same time is quite something.

Brough Superior made motorcycles, sidecars and even cars by George Brough in Nottingham, England, from 1919 to 1940. Brough’s creations were described as the Rolls Royce of Motorcycles by H. D. Teague of The Motor Cycle newspaper. In 21 years of production they made around 3048 motorcycles across 19 different models.

It is said that around a third of the motorcycles produced still exist. Many people know that Lawrence of Arabia owned them. H actually owned eight, but died from crashing the seventh before his eighth bike was delivered.

There are 156 lots in the sale and contain a good range of classic motorcycles. Mostly British in origin, many of the lots are significant as they are duplicates from the museum’s own collection. This is to raise money as the museum and conference centre has not been able to open this year and has been struggling financially. This sale is of huge importance.

Viewing of all the lots will take place from Monday 14th – Friday 18th December 2020. Registration and viewing can be arranged through H&H Classics, www.handh.co.uk.
