Audi 90 / 4000 B2 1984 -1986
Audi launched the Audi 90 B2 as they moved the 5 cylinder engine version more upmarket from the Audi 80. Sharing the same body there were a few styling differences and the 90 first appeared with the facelifted B2 in 1984.
Standard specification included velour trim, electric windows and front fog lights. Optional 14″ Ronal alloy wheels. The 90 was discretely different from the 80, but was about right for a mid sized executive for the time.
The 1994cc capacity engine was mounted longitudinally up front and produced 115 bhp. The larger 2226cc engine was only available with the quattro version, complete with its 4WD system.
There were 5 speed manual and 3 speed automatic transmission options. The quattro was manual only.
The Audi 4000 was the North American market model covering both the 80 and 90, with only one 5 cylinder engine option by the time the 90 was released. The 2226cc engine was available as a 4WD only model in the Audi 4000 CS quattro.
