The Race to Le Mans (part5)

The Race to Le Mans (part5)

Today has been somewhat of a success with the biggest item a coolant change. I figured it’s been a while since that had been done so I got onto that in the morning. Then it was off to sort a few more things that were non trip related, which ate into the time I had left.

Still, it enabled me to pick up a couple of camping chairs which will be handy as sitting on the floor isn’t exactly my idea of being comfortable. I still have to sort out a load of things to take with me, and running out of time to pack.

I did do some finishing off of a few bits, like cleaning up and plugging in the last of the headlining trim pieces. I also repaired one of the blanking covers for the missing grab handle on the drivers side I broke when refitting it first time. I heard a crack and it dethatched itself from the bit screwed into the roof. Some JB Weld and a piece of duct tape might hold it, as this is my second go at it. It’s a shame if it isn’t there as the roof looks pretty good, I’ll see how long the whole thing lasts having never done one before.

I even wiped around the shut lines of the car, not completely, but enough to take the worst of the grime away. It’s a 100 yard car, looks good from that distance.

And I refitted the cleaned wheel trims. They will require something more industrial than washing up liquid and a bottle brush to do properly next time…

Those tyres do look huge, I’m sure the ride height has gone up a couple of inches, but they are the right size for it and the rolling radius will be correct. I’ll wait for a flat bit and compare with the sat nav and see if it has made much difference.
